Artist's Description
An iconic New England scene. Nubble Light is perhaps the most recognized lighthouse on the New England coast, partly because there's only one good vantage to view it from, so virtually every image of it looks like every other one. In my painting, I focused on the "nubble" - the rocky bit of an island on which the lighthouse sits.
The original of this painting is transparent watercolor on Arches cold pressed paper. I completed it in April, 2015.

My subject matter reflects three life-long passions: nature, history, and architecture. I have lived most of my life in New England. I love painting subjects from my home region, as well as from the travel that my wife, Linda and I enjoy doing together. I paint only in watercolor, in a style that lies somewhere between impressionistic and photo-realistic.
