Artist's Description
Great Horned Owls are fierce predators - a quality that is made apparent by the intensity of their eyes. I painted this from a photo I took at the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences - a raptor rehab facility in Quechee Vermont. I spent considerable time observing and photographing him/her. About Steve Hamlin
My subject matter reflects three life-long passions: nature, history, and architecture. I have lived most of my life in New England. I love painting subjects from my home region, as well as from the travel that my wife, Linda and I enjoy doing together.
