This goldfinch was one of a small flock that Linda and I happened on one August evening in Quebec. We were visiting Cap-Tourmente near Beaupre. There was a small garden planted with sunflowers which had gone to seed, and the goldfinches were feasting on them in the evening sun.

My subject matter reflects three life-long passions: nature, history, and architecture. I have lived most of my life in New England. I love painting subjects from my home region, as well as from the travel that my wife, Linda and I enjoy doing together.
