Bluebirds can be found at any time of the year in southern New England. Linda and I came across a hardy flock on a wind-swept coastal cliff in Maine one January. I saw one last New Year's Day in nearby Westhampton, in the hilltowns of western Massachusetts. And, of course, I've seen them on balmy spring and summer days. I photographed this handsome male in a former orchard on the grounds of Quabbin Reservoir a few years ago.

My subject matter reflects three life-long passions: nature, history, and architecture. I have lived most of my life in New England. I love painting subjects from my home region, as well as from the travel that my wife, Linda and I enjoy doing together.
