Golden-winged Warblers are threatened, both by habitat destruction and by being cross-bred into oblivion by their more numerous close cousins, the Blue-winged Warbler. Golden-winged Warblers breed around the US-Canada border, but I took the photo I based this painting on in Texas during the spring migration.

My subject matter reflects three life-long passions: nature, history, and architecture. I have lived most of my life in New England. I love painting subjects from my home region, as well as from the travel that my wife, Linda and I enjoy doing together.
