Description
When I was a child in the 1960's, Bald Eagles were becoming extremely rare, threatened with extinction by the use of DDT for mosquito control. I didn't see my first eagle in the wild until around 1990. Since then, I've been fortunate to see many eagles, and I've witnessed their resurgence in my western Massachusetts home territory. This eagle is one of two residents at the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences (VINS) - a raptor rehab/educational facility in Quechee VT. Besides all the good work done at VINS in mending broken wings and the other injuries, they provide people like me opportunities to view these impressive birds at close range. All of the resident birds at VINS have been determined unfit to survive in the wild.
Completed in November, 2013. The price listed for the original includes matting, glazing and framing. Please contact me to discuss delivery arrangements if you're interested in purchasing this drawing.
