Description

I based this drawing on a photograph I took during a brief stay at Lake Lure, North Carolina a few years ago. We were delighted to find a bird-filled dingle behind the otherwise forgettable accommodations we were staying in.

In doing the drawing, I spent most of my time rendering the bird as accurately as possible, but I also took pains to draw the background. Creating separation between the foreground bird and the background trees was an interesting challenge. Completed in January, 2015.
