Description
I photographed this bluebird at the Cape Cod National Seashore headquarters building in Eastham, Mass., during our recent visit to Brewster. He was one of a flock which had apparently wintered over there. It's been a particularly mild winter, which may have enticed more blubirds than usual to stick around, but some hardy souls always spend the winter, especially on the Cape, where winters are usually quite mild (by New England standards, anyway). I began this painting while we were still on the Cape, finishing it back home in my studio.
