Description

I got a commission to do a watercolor portrait of two Boston Terriers - Trixie and her housemate, Taggie. In preparation, I took a series of photos to use for reference. The photo this drawing is based on was from early in the session before Trixie got bored with the unfamiliar sounds my camera was making. I chose to do this drawing in addition to the watercolor. I was drawn to the spark of intelligent curiosity in her eyes.

The original is graphite (pencil) on bristol paper. It was completed in December, 2014.
